I believe I am stalling for time to avoid getting up and tidying my room....EVERYONE I know still has exams on, and I feel so alone. So have some disjointed school related points.
I finished my exams on wednesday. Ugh, eight exams over nine day, with only one day-Sunday, my only full work day, as a break. I have no doubt that I've got Uni Entrance credits, and I've had my literacy and numeracy credits for yonks...all I've got to do now is send in my Vic application. Oh god. I actually have to decide what courses I'm gonna take. No more dilly dallying. gah.
Scholarship, scholarship, scholarship....Geography....hah. hahahahahahah. hah. English, I'll be suprised if I get it, but at the very least, I want a six for my Tempest essay, for it was a thing of great symetry and beauty. Art history, I actually think I'm in with a pretty good chance, but whatever happens, I'm proud of what I did-I have achieved a bizarre state of zen about the whole thing.
Ah well. Whatever happens with those papers, I already have my frst year scholarship-so thats $4,500 out of the governments pocket, not mine.
Simply put, my school does not give us enough study leave before exams...We had school up till Wednesday, when we got issued our exam slips...and then we had to spend all thursday at the town hall to practice for prizegiving before it even went ahead that night...I swear, no one else does that.
It was a worthwhile experience, I guess- kinda like the equivalent of a graduation, but without the silly hats. I finally got to sit with people I know, the other prefects...but was also right next to the brass section of the orchestra...oh, my ears. Prefects got given lolly necklaces...I sneaked one during the incredibly boring Trustee speech<_< >_>. The soloists and the choirs were good, but in all honesty, I hated the song choices. 'Cept Bridge over troubled water...but my opinion may have been influenced by the fact that Ailsa and Eryn were the soloists for it. They have such amazing voices...
Floras speech wasnt up to much, but no one could ever say anything as hilarious and amazing as Kristen did last year. With her as an act to follow, I'm actually glad I didn't get head girl.
Practically all my friends got prizes or scholarships-I got top ten in Yr 13 and Batham Memorial at senior level, which means I'm the only East girl to ever have won the English prize every year I was eligible for it..I have fulfilled my High school lifes ambition! and, as we predicted,(and as she denied)Ju-Cham got Dux, and about 15 other prizes and acknowledgements. Lily and I had to help her carry all her books and trophies at the end-I swear, that stack was half as tall as she is.
Also, Lily got a mysterious $100 dollar scholarship from the Freemasons. She doesn't know why. We are very worried about this.
I'm...running out of things to mention. Ah well. Room tidying away.
